There are two types of cholesterol. Low Density Lipoprotein or LDL cholesterol and High Density Lipoprotein or HDL cholesterol. So what does each one do?

LDL cholesterol is also called “bad cholesterol”.

It carries cholesterol to your arteries.

If the levels are too high it can build up on the artery walls.

This build up is called plaque.

It may narrow your arteries and restrict your blood flow.

This increases your risk of forming blood clots which can cause a heart attack or stroke.

HDL cholesterol or “good cholesterol” helps carry the LDL cholesterol to the liver to be removed from your body.

We need a certain amount of each cholesterol for our body to function.

However high levels of LDL cholesterol can cause serious health issues.

Lowering high cholesterol may not be easy.

You may need medical intervention.

If not consider supplements that may be effective for lowering cholesterol.

This is where we come in, we look at the ingredients and their track records for lowering LDL cholesterol.

Some of these ingredients include green tea, garlic and probiotics.

Pair one of these supplements with a healthy diet and exercise. It may improve your overall heart health.
